Copper bells are a speciality of the artisans of Nirona, Gujarat. The different parts of the bells are made separately by different artisans and then welded together. Each bell is tuned differently by an expert and makes a unique sound. An artisan can tune the bells to different musical notes. The bells, once used only to tie around the cattle’s neck have now gone through a lot of transformation. The bells are now used to make various ornamental products.

Bell metal, an alloy of copper and zinc, has been utilized to create a diverse array of articles, including sculptures, pots, pans, utensils, and, most notably, bells.
